Allianz Hurling League 2011 (Sunday, Feb. 20th) Divisional Results...
Allianz HL Division 1
Wexford 0-12 - 1-11 Waterford
Venue: Wexford Park
Wexford suffered a second straight defeat in the Allianz Hurling League when they were narrowly beaten by neighbours Waterford. Having suffered a 21-point loss to Galway last week, Wexford looked doomed after the opening round of the competition, but Models boss Colm Bonnar will take heart from this performance as his side were only denied a win by three late Waterford points.
Maurice Shanahan, a second half sub, was the hero for Davy Fitzgerald’s side, firing over all three of those late scores.
It might not have been such a close shave for Waterford in the end had Richie Foley, their star man in the draw with Dublin last week, not missed a second half penalty.
Offaly 1-10 - 1-24 Galway
Venue: Tullamore
Galway claimed their second successive win in the Allianz Hurling League on Sunday, beating Offaly in a one-sided Division One game. John McIntyre’s side, the defending League champions, managed to dominate the first half and led by 0-9 to 0-5 at the break.
Offaly’s Cathal Parlon was sent off after picking up a second yellow card in the first half.
Galway hit ten successive points in the final quarter to take complete control.
Joe Bergin netted from a late free for Offaly, but the Faithful men have now lost their two Allianz League games to date.
Kilkenny 0-14 - 1-10 Cork
Venue: Nowlan Park
Kilkenny defeated Cork in appalling conditions in Nowlan Park on Sunday. Having completely dominated the first three quarters of the game, Brian Cody’s side were leading by 0-12 to 0-4 as late as the 51st minute when Cork, against the odds, staged a remarkable comeback thanks to a late penalty and the sending off of JJ Delaney, to level the game in the final minute.
With the momentum firmly in Cork’s favour, it appeared that the only place the league point were going was south, but the Cats showed their steel to change the flow of the game and steal the victory thanks to Richie Hogan’s tenth point of the game two minutes into added time.

Allianz Football League 2011 Divisional (Sunday, Feb 20th) Results...
Allianz FL Division 1
Dublin are clear at the top of Division 1 of the Allianz Football League as they are the only county to have won their opening two games in this year’s competition, the other winners from last week having lost.
Cork, of course, were seen off by the Dubs at Croke Park on Saturday night, while Monaghan, who beat Galway in round 1, went down against Ulster rivals Armagh at the Athletic Grounds. While the visitors were on top for a lot of this game, a late goal from the Orchard County’s Micheál O’Rourke put the home side into a one-point lead and though Conor McManus levelled for the Farney men, Andy Mallon secured the win for the home side in injury time.
Down, who drew with Mayo last week, are in second place on their own after they overcame Galway at Páirc Esler in Newry. In truth, James McCartan’s side should have had this wrapped up long before Gary O’Donnell’s goal gave Galway brief hope with 10 minutes left, cutting the gap to two point, 1-10 to 1-8. Worryingly for the Tribesmen, though, they are now the only team yet to register a point and things won’t be getting any easier for them as they have a tough game with neighbours Mayo coming up next week.
Mayo will be left feeling that they should be higher in the table than the seventh spot that they occupy right now, though, as the draw with Down was followed up with a home defeat against Kerry at Castlebar, the Kingdom coming away with the victory.
Down 2-11 - 1-09 Galway Newry
Mayo 0-08 - 1-09 Kerry Castlebar
Armagh 1-11 - 0-13 Monaghan Athletic Grounds
Allianz FL Division 2
Laois 1-12 - 0-10 Antrim Portlaoise
Meath 1-12 - 0-08 Sligo Navan
Kildare 0-11 - 0-13 Derry Newbridge

Waterford 2-08 - 0-08 Limerick Dungarvan
Westmeath 0-12 - 1-09 Cavan Cusack Park, Mullingar
Louth 1-12 - 1-10 Tipperary Drogheda
Offaly 0-11 - 1-12 Wexford Tullamore

Wicklow 2-22 - 1-04 London Aughrim
