Dublin 1-15 1-22 Galway
Galway have started the new season in fine style, claiming the Walsh Cup with a seven-point win over Dublin last Sunday, at Parnell Park.
The Walsh Cup is an inter-county and colleges hurling competition in the province of Leinster. The cup was named after Tom Walsh (Kilkenny), Chairman of the Leinster Council (1948-50). The competition now also includes teams from the provinces of Ulster and Connacht. The competition began in 1954.
