Waterford 0-25 Limerick 0-17
Waterford qualified for the 2009 Munster Hurling final with a fully deserved win against Limerick at the Thurles venue.
The Deise got off to the better start in the first half. John Mullane's three first half points from play were an inspiration. But Limerick slowly got more into the game as the half wore on.
At half time Waterford held the slight advantage. Ten points to eight.
Dan Shanahan replaced the injured Stephen Molumphy after the break. Exchanges were hard and every ball was fiercely contested. Waterford edged three in front only to be pegged back to a single point.
Finally in the closing ten minutes Waterford gained the upper hand throughout the field. Shane OSullivan landed an inspirational point. Mullane had three from play, Eoin Kelly was deadly accurate from placed balls and Seamus Prendergast chipped in with three fine points from play.
Waterford march on to the Munster final on 12th July, where they will meet the winner of the other semi-final between Clare & Tipperary.
