Galway 2-23 Tipperary 2-23
Galway got on with the job of preparing for the team's opening qualifier assignment against Clare at Cusack Park, Ennis in two weeks time. They had a senior hurling challenge Monday night (6/29) in Thurles, against Tipperary. The high scoring game ended up in a draw.
Galway started with three of the team that started against Kilkenny in the Leinster semi-final. At the interval Tipperary lead the Tribesmen 1-12 to 0-10. However, Galway started the second half well and goals form Alan Kerins and Joe Gantley gave them a boost. Benny Dunne scored 7 points for Tipperary on the evening, while Ger Farragher had 9 points for Galway.
