The Christy Ring Cup is in its 6th Year as a tournament. The 2010 tournament has the following double elimination format - each team will play at least two games before being knocked out.

• The eight teams play four Round 1 matches.
  The winners in Round 1 advance to Round 2A.
  The losers in Round 1 go into to Round 2B.
  
  There are two Round 2A matches.
  The winners in Round 2A advance to the semi-finals.
  The losers in Round 2A go into to the quarter-finals.
  
  There are two Round 2B matches.
  The winners in Round 2B advance to the quarter-finals.
  The losers in Round 2B go into the relegation playoff.
  
  The losers of the relegation playoff are relegated to the Nicky Rackard Cup for 2011.
  
  There are two quarter-final matches between the Round 2A losers and Round 2B winners.
  The winners of the quarter-finals advance to the semi-finals.
  
  The losers of the quarter-finals are eliminated.
  
  There are two semi-final matches between the Round 2A winners and the quarter-final winners.
  The winners of the semi-finals advance to the final.
  The losers of the semi-finals are eliminated.
  
  The winners of the final win the Christy Ring Cup for 2010 and are promoted to the Liam McCarthy Cup 2011.

Bord Gáis Energy Ladies' Football NFL Finals Results...

Cork were crowned Bord Gáis Energy Ladies National Football League Division 1 champions for a third successive season at Dublin's Parnell Park on Saturday. They defeated Galway 2-10 to 1-9. Cork have now claimed five NFL titles in the last six seasons.

Elsewhere, Donegal were finally crowned Bord Gáis Division 2 champions, having lost three finals in the previous eight seasons. The North-Westerners ran out winners by ten points against Kildare in Saturday's second tier decider, on a final score of 5-15 to 2-14.

Meanwhile, Cavan captured the Bord Gáis Energy Division 3 title for the second time in three seasons with a comfortable 4-13 to 1-10 victory against Waterford.

Dublin triumph over Donegal in the All-Ireland U-21 Football Final...

Dublin U-21 1-10 Donegal U-21 1-08

Dublin won their second All-Ireland U21 football title, by beating Donegal in a dramatic finish at Breffni Park. A crowd of over 8,000 people showed up for the match.

Donegal were unlucky in the end not to take the title, when Donegal skipper Michael Murphy hit the crossbar with a stoppage time penalty.

2010 All-Ireland SFC: Galway get win over New York...

Galway did just about enough to beat a defiant New York team in the Connacht Senior Football Championship preliminary round. New York were reduced to 13 men in the second half.

Padraig Joyce's first touch of the ball was put into the back of the net for a goal for Galway. The goal came within the first two minutes of the match.

Padraig Joyce got 1-3 in the first half.

Half-Time Score: Galway 1-5 New York 0-7

New York's Dan Doona, Joe Bell, Pat Madden, Brendan Mc Gourty, Lorcan Maguire and Johney Murtage picked up yellow cards in the match. Pat Madden was sent off in the 48th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Johney Murtage was sent off in the 53rd minute after receiving his second yellow card.

Galway's Diarmuid Blake and Gary Sice each picked up a yellow card in the 58th and 59th minute, respectively.

Galway had 12 wides in the match.

Cormac Bane scored a goal for Galway in the closing seconds of the match, to put a bit of respectability on the scoreline.

Man of the Match was Padraig Joyce, who scored 1-7 for Galway.

Galway easily defeated Cork in the 2010 Allianz National Hurling League Division 1 Final; claiming their ninth NHL title.

Galway's Damien Hayes opens the scoring with a goal in the second minute.

Cork's Cathal Naughton scored a goal in the 23rd minute, but Joe Canning scored a goal for Galway right after that.

Ger Farragher had 5 points in the first half for Galway and Joe Canning had 1-2. Cork's Ben O'Connor had 4 points.

Cork had a penalty in the 40th minute when John Gardiner was fouled, but the Pat Horgan’s shot was deflected over the bar for a point by Galway 'keeper Colm Callanan.

Galway had 17 wides to Cork's 10 in the match.

Joe Canning got 1-5 in the game (all from play).

After the game, GAA President Christy Cooney presented Galway captain Shane Kavanagh with the cup, which will give Manager McIntyre's charges a serious boost heading into their Leinster Championship campaign.

Kavanagh also got Man of the Match award.

Galway will hope to replicate this form against Wexford in the Leinster SHC quarter-final on May 29th, while Cork face Tipperary in a Munster quarter-final on May 30th.

Galway take on New York in GAA Connacht Senior Football Championship preliminary round on Sunday, 2 May at the Gaelic Park in New York.

Joe Kernan says Galway will be treating New York with the same respect as any other team when they meet.

This week, Michael Meehan was named Galway football captain for the Championship, but will not be involved in their opening match.
Instead, newly-appointed vice-captain Joe Bergin will lead the Tribesmen into battle, with Galway Manager Joe Kernan confirming that Meehan is still about four weeks away from full fitness.

Kernan has included two debutants for what is his first championship game as Galway manager with Eoin O Conghaile starting in goal and Eoin Concannon lining out alongside Padraic and Nicky Joyce in the full forward line. Several other players from the senior panel were unable to make the trip due to exams. They include, Sean Armstrong, Paul Conroy, David Reilly, Garreth Bradshaw and Conor Healy.

New York boss Seamus Sweeney is confident that his side will give a good account of themselves against Galway.

The Exiles' participation in the Connacht SFC has called into question in recent years owing to cost issues and their lack of competitiveness, but Donegal native Sweeney is confident that they can put it up to Galway this time around.

Cork romped over Mayo in the Allianz National Football League Division 1 final in front of 27,000 spectators at Croke Park on Sunday.

Cork's Daniel Goulding (1-5) and Donncha O'Connor (0-5) were on fire on a day when Mayo once more failed to show up with their best game at headquarters.

At halftime, the Rebels lead by 0-09 to 0-05.
