2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Winner Odds...
All Ireland Champions for 2009 Kilkenny are favorites to win this year's championship. They are also going for their fifth championship in a row (which will be a new record if they do it). 2009 runners-up Tipperary are listed as second favorites. 2010 National League Champions Galway come in as third favorites.
Despite the current odds, I believe that Kilkenny will not get their 5-in-row and it maybe at the expense of Galway. Galway are the last team to beat Kilkenny, way back in the 2005 All-Ireland semi-final. Most people that know me are aware that I say it every year, but I think this year is Galway's year to triumph after 22 years without the Liam McCarthy Cup. But, as the old saying goes..... see you in September!

2009 winners Kerry are starting as favorites to win this year's championship (according to the bookmakers). While runners-up for the 2009 Championship, Cork are second favorites.
For the longest time, Kerry always remain one of the top favorites to win the SFC championship every year and there is good reason for that. However, as the championship proceeded in the last few years, it goes wide open before narrowing to the top favorites (typically Kerry).
I don't think that this year's championship will be any different. Despite Kerry being favorites to win, I believe that they are not going to do it. They struggled to get through the back door last year to get to the final. Yes, they did win it, but they are good when they are in the final.
Phew, this year's winner is difficult to pick at this point. If you can't guess from my other blog posts over the last year, my heart goes with Galway, but I don't think they can do it either. They have great young talent and great management in new guy Joe Kernan, but they will have a long haul to get to the final.
My gut feeling at this point is that the Sam Maguire Cup will go to a county that has not won it in the last decade - so no Kerry, Tyrone, Galway or Armagh. And... Dublin could be that team! Also, watch out for the dark horse Donegal this year; if they do well in Ulster SF Championship. They could go all the way.
Finally, I wonder what the odds are of Mayo going all the way to this year's final and losing it again on the big day. Half decent odds would definitely worth a wager!

Bord Gáis Energy Ladies' Football NFL Finals Results...
Cork were crowned Bord Gáis Energy Ladies National Football League Division 1 champions for a third successive season at Dublin's Parnell Park on Saturday. They defeated Galway 2-10 to 1-9. Cork have now claimed five NFL titles in the last six seasons.
Elsewhere, Donegal were finally crowned Bord Gáis Division 2 champions, having lost three finals in the previous eight seasons. The North-Westerners ran out winners by ten points against Kildare in Saturday's second tier decider, on a final score of 5-15 to 2-14.
Meanwhile, Cavan captured the Bord Gáis Energy Division 3 title for the second time in three seasons with a comfortable 4-13 to 1-10 victory against Waterford.

Dublin triumph over Donegal in the All-Ireland U-21 Football Final...

Dublin won their second All-Ireland U21 football title, by beating Donegal in a dramatic finish at Breffni Park. A crowd of over 8,000 people showed up for the match.
Donegal were unlucky in the end not to take the title, when Donegal skipper Michael Murphy hit the crossbar with a stoppage time penalty.

Galway did just about enough to beat a defiant New York team in the Connacht Senior Football Championship preliminary round. New York were reduced to 13 men in the second half.
Padraig Joyce's first touch of the ball was put into the back of the net for a goal for Galway. The goal came within the first two minutes of the match.

New York's Dan Doona, Joe Bell, Pat Madden, Brendan Mc Gourty, Lorcan Maguire and Johney Murtage picked up yellow cards in the match. Pat Madden was sent off in the 48th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Johney Murtage was sent off in the 53rd minute after receiving his second yellow card.
Galway's Diarmuid Blake and Gary Sice each picked up a yellow card in the 58th and 59th minute, respectively.

Galway take on New York in GAA Connacht Senior Football Championship preliminary round on Sunday, 2 May at the Gaelic Park in New York.
Joe Kernan says Galway will be treating New York with the same respect as any other team when they meet.
This week, Michael Meehan was named Galway football captain for the Championship, but will not be involved in their opening match.
Instead, newly-appointed vice-captain Joe Bergin will lead the Tribesmen into battle, with Galway Manager Joe Kernan confirming that Meehan is still about four weeks away from full fitness.
Kernan has included two debutants for what is his first championship game as Galway manager with Eoin O Conghaile starting in goal and Eoin Concannon lining out alongside Padraic and Nicky Joyce in the full forward line. Several other players from the senior panel were unable to make the trip due to exams. They include, Sean Armstrong, Paul Conroy, David Reilly, Garreth Bradshaw and Conor Healy.
