All-Ireland SFC Ulster Championship 2011: Armagh defeat Down...

Armagh inflicted defeat on neighbours Down at The Athletic Grounds.

Armagh led by 1-8 to 1-6 at the end of a thrilling first half, with goals coming from Jamie Clarke and Mark Poland. Between them, the teams registered only five first-half wides, despite the wet and slippery conditions.

The visitors led by 1-9 to 1-8 ten minutes into the second half but the Orchard County reeled off seven of the last eight scores for a convincing win.

Goalscorer Jamie Clarke, Aaron Kernan, Charlie Vernon, Ciaran McKeever, Malachy Mackin and Billy Joe Padden were among the many heroes for the winners.
