All-Ireland SHC Ulster Championship 2011: Armagh beat Monaghan...

Armagh 2-17
Monaghan 2-07

Armagh got a quarter-final victory over Monaghan in Newry.

The outsiders made a real fight of it and had battled back to within a point by the three-quarters stage before Neil Duffy's goal gave the Orchard County the impetus they needed to advance.

Monaghan's Mickey McHugh had a penalty pushed over the bar and they also had a point from Stephen Lambe in response to two Paul McCormack efforts in the opening 15 minutes: 0-2 apiece.

Conor Corvan, Ruairi Grattan and Donal Carville edged the winners three ahead before Brian McGuigan (Monaghan) and Corvan found the net late in the half, leaving Armagh ahead by 1-8 to 1-3 at half time.
