Roscommon play Wexford on Saturday (July 18th, 3:00PM throw-in), in a replay of round two of the SFC Qualifiers at Hyde Park. The Rossies drew with the Slaneysiders 0-11 to 1-8 last weekend.
Roscommon boss Fergal O'Donnell has made one change to his side. Ronan Brady, who replaced the injured Paul Gleeson in the drawn clash, retains his place at right corner back. There is one positional change in attack which sees team captain Gary Cox and Fintan Cregg swap places on the right flank.
Roscommon Team:
G Claffey; R Brady, J Nolan, S McDermott; S Purcell, P Domican, D Keenan; M Finneran, B Higgins; G Cox (captain), D Connellan, D Shine; F Cregg, S Kilbride, C Cregg.
Wexford manager Jason Ryan has recalled Adrian Morrissey and Eric Bradley to the Wexford team. Morrissey makes a surprise return to the defence replacing Kieran Kennedy at right half back. . It was thought his season was over after undergoing surgery last month for a groin injury he suffered in the Leinster SFC quarter-final defeat to Kildare.
Bradley returns at midfield in place of Brendan Doyle. Matty Forde remains sidelined with a long-term back problem.
Wexford Team:
A Masterson; B Malone, G Molloy, N Murphy; A Morrissey, D Murphy, C Morrissey (captain); D Fogarty, E Bradley; S Roche, R Barry, A Flynn; C Lyng, S Cullen, PJ Banville.
Both these teams have had a disappointing 2009 Championship. I don't think Meath will have any worries of meeting either team in round three next week. It is difficult to call this one, as both teams are weak in performance. Having said that, I think the more experienced Wexford side will prevail, in what could be a low scoring game.
