Derry play Donegal in the third round of the All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers at Ballybofey on Saturday July 18th, @ 7:00 PM.
Derry manager Damian Cassidy will wait until late on Friday to name his team.
Derry: TBC
Donegal manager John Joe Doherty has introduced veteran Brian Roper in place of the injured Christy Toye. Roper comes in at centre-forward and Leo McLoone moves to midfield alongside Kevin Cassidy. Doherty will be hoping for a much-improved performance on the one he got in the three-point win over Clare in the previous round and the win over Carlow before that.
Donegal Team:
P Durcan; F McGlynn, N McGee, K Lacey; B Dunnion, B Monaghan, E McGee; L McLoone, K Cassidy; R Kavanagh (captain), B Roper, D Walsh; C Dunne, M Murphy, C McFadden.
Both teams meet for the second successive year. Derry beat Donegal by two points in last year’s Ulster quarter-final. Donegal’s inconsistency has meant that Oakleafers will go into this game as strong favourites. I don't see an upset happening here, so I think Derry will have a comfortable win.
Paddy Power Match Betting Odds:
Donegal 9/4
Draw 15/2
Derry 1/2
Handicap Betting:
Donegal (+3.0) 10/11
Handicap Draw (3.0) 8/1
