Kildare got a hard fought win over Wicklow in the Senior Football Championship Qualifiers Round 4.
Kildare took the early lead in the first half, before the Garden county came back to overtake them. However, the Lilywhites gained composure and got a few unanswered points to hold the lead at the interval.
Half-time score: Kildare 0-11 Wicklow 1-04
Both teams played well in the second half. Unfortuately for Wicklow, they ran out of steam in the last 10 minutes. A goal by Alan Smith for Kildare in the 68th minute killed off the chances of Wicklow winning this one.
The Garden county should be proud of their performance, but will be disappointed with some miss chances at crucial stages of the match, that could have changed the outcome.
