All-Ireland SHC Quarter-Finals: Galway v Waterford Match Pick...

Galway play Waterford in the All-Ireland Hurling Championship Quarter-Final on Sunday July 26th at Semple Stadium @ 4:00 PM.

The Tribesmen full back Shane Kavanagh has been ruled out after breaking a bone in his hand against Cork. Galway have made one change for this quarter-final clash with Waterford. Full-back Eugene McEntee replaces the injured Kavanagh.

McEntee joins Portumna club-mate Ollie Canning in the back-line, with Adrian Cullinane's continued absence meaning the Tribesmen are without two of their first choice six defenders.

Galway Team:
C Callanan; D Joyce, E McEntee, O Canning (capt); F Moore, J Lee, E Lynch; G Farragher, K Hynes; A Callanan, C Donnellan, A Smith; D Hayes, J Canning, N Healy.

The Déise boss Davy Fitzgerald has made only change from the side that lost the Munster final to Tipperary.

Shane Casey has been called up to the Waterford team for this quarter-final clash. He comes in for Jack Kennedy, who has left the panel, at left corner forward. Former Hurler of the Year Dan Shanahan has to be content with a place on the subs bench once again.

Waterford Team:
C Hennessy; E Murphy, D Prendergast, N Connors; T Browne, M Walsh, A Kearney; K Moran, S O'Sullivan; J Nagle, S Prendergast, S Molumphy; J Mullane, E Kelly, S Casey.

The statistics are heavily loaded against Galway. The Tribesmen have no win from eight previous championship encounters against Waterford. Their last clash was in 2006 when Waterford won a qualifier tie in Walsh Park. However, their past poor championship records against both Clare and Cork didn't stop them from winning both those matches, over the last couple of weekends.

Waterford are a decent team, but I think Galway only getting better with each win and should have enough in the tank on Sunday to get past the Déise.

Paddy Power Match Winning Odds:
