Dublin 2-15 Kildare 0-18
Dublin claimed their fifth provincial title in a row by beating Kildare in the Leinster Senior Football Championship Final, at Croke Park.
Kildare were leading by 0-12 to 2-5 at the interval, after coming from 6 points down during the first half. In the second half both teams kept it close. They were level with a few minutes to go. However, the Dubs got three late points to seal the victory.
Bernard Brogan (0-07) put in a Man of the Match performance.
Dublin were reduced to 14 men after 19 minutes, when centre-back Ger Brennan was dimissed for a punch he landed on Kildare's Ken Donnelly.
The Dubs may have won another Leinster crown, but they never seem to get to the All-Ireland Final. While reigning All-Ireland champions Tyrone remain favorites to keep the Sam Maguire Cup, are the Dubs now capable of taking it this year?
