Armagh boss Peter McDonnell has resigned from his role as senior football manager.
McDonnell took over from Joe Kernan and led the Orchard County to the Ulster title in 2008, the first year of his reign. However, the 2009 Championship was to prove a massive disappointment. Armagh exited the championship with a loss to Monaghan in the the first stage of the All Ireland qualifiers.

McDonnell cites “outside influences” for his decision to quit as manager. He said that his management team were been undermined.
ReplyDeleteJoe Kernan and Kildare boss Kieran McGeeney are already been linked with the vacant position.
I see Kernan has ruled himself out of a return to the Armagh job. He has cited work commitments as his reason for not returning.
ReplyDeleteI cant see Mcgeeney going for it now that he is doing well with the Lilywhites.
